- Evaluate the training and support programs: Ensure that the new agency provides a comprehensive training and support program to help you transition smoothly and succeed in your new role.
- Negotiate the terms of your agreement: Once you’ve made your decision, negotiate the terms of your agreement with your new host agency. Make sure you understand all of the terms & conditions before signing your agreement.
- Start the transition process: Work with your new agency to make the transition as smooth as possible. Update your marketing materials and notify your clients of the change (if it benefits them/you). It’s a great way to touch base with your client and let them know about all of the new, added benefits you’ll be providing to their business.
Finding the right host is crucial for the success of your travel agency. A host agency should be an extension of your business to provide resources that provide benefits to both you and your clients. Over the years, there have been many advisors who have left one host in the hopes of finding something better, only to find out that it was not a good move in the end. It takes a lot of time and effort to switch host agencies, transfer bookings, learn new technologies, obtain supplier logins, and more. Be sure to do your homework and find the right fit for your business from the start!
